Apple Walnut Pork Chops

(Reprinted courtesy of The Ram Nut Diet, by Leonard J. Ram, M.D.)

4 pork chops, lean, approx. 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick

 1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1/2 cup walnuts

2 Granny Smith apples, cored and diced

2 tablespoons brown sugar or pure maple syrup

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.  In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, sear the cops on both sides and turn down the heat to medium.  Add the walnuts to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes.  Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until the pork chops are done, approximately 3-4 minutes.
