Baked Walnut Apple

6 large baking apples
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350˚
F. Core the apples, pare strip from top of each apple.
Place in a 10 x 6 inch baking dish. Fill apples with the walnuts.
Combine the sugar, water and spices. Bring to a boil. Drizzle hot
syrup into the top of the apples. Bake uncovered about 1 hour.
